While my first love was SF, I read widely in YA, urban fantasy, police procedurals,  middle-grade, and non-fiction.

Red: A Crayon's Story

Red: A Crayon's Story - Michael Hall, Michael Hall

This picture book was my favorite of what I read during the ReadAThon.

Some folks try to take it a step too far and try to read Red as an allegory of the transgender experience.  I think it is stronger as a simple story of being accepted for who you are inside rather than what you look like outside without trying to correlate blue inside red outside with a specific external identity.
