While my first love was SF, I read widely in YA, urban fantasy, police procedurals, middle-grade, and non-fiction.
I love this series! It was fun watching Ms. Bishop carefully line up the dominoes through the first section Vision in Sliver and then an exhilarating ride as they all tumbled down in the last third. The book ends with just enough suspense - though not a cliff-hanger than I can't wait to see how it all turns out.
If you like Urban Fantasy, and have not yet tried the story of Meg, the cassandra sangue, then I highly recommend that you get a copy of Written in Red and settle down for an enjoyable ride.
As an aside, I visited Anne Bishop's website and discovered that she pronounces certain terms in this series a bit differently than I had initially come up with. In particular:
cassandra sangue — kah-sandrah sang not san-gway
terra indigene — tair-ah ihn-dih-zheen not ihn-dih-zhih-nay
