I don't typically post until I've finished a book, but this time it seems appropriate.

My 8th grade son brought home The Making of a Navy Seal, the YA adaptation of Brandon Webb's autobiography/memoir The Red Circle, from the school book fair last November. He's a reader that finds a topic he likes and then sticks with it for a while, reading related books over and over and over.  It's now 3 months later and he's still engrossed by accounts of Navy Seal training and operations.  During this time he's moved from The Making of a Navy Seal to The Red Circle and then on a run of other Navy Seal Training memoirs including

  • Among Heros
  • Seal Team Six,
  • I am A SEAL Team Six Warrior, (the YA adaptation of Seal Team Six),
  • Inside Seal Team Six, and
  • Battle Ready

I was in the mood for non-fiction, and of the current batch on out shelves Battle Ready seemed the most interesting.  So I'm going to give it a go.
