Read-a-Thon Calendar 2016 edition

I thought I would update the list of Readathons that I posted last year.  Bout of Books #15 is already in the bag (it was 1/4/2016 - 1/10/2016), and as I posted earlier #24in48 is this weekend and still accepting participants.  (I’m unfortunately writing a report for work instead of participating, but you can’t have everything).

In case you want to play along, here are the Readathons I am aware of.  Please add a comment if you know of any others.

High-intensity short duration

Dewey’s 24-hr Readathon

#Deweys #readathon

April 23, 2016

October 2016 (usually the 3rd weekend)

Twenty Four in Forty Eight

January 16 – 17, 2016

Summer 2016 – date to be announced in late January

July 23-24, 2016

The organizer has just announced that she shifted to Winter and Summer so that #24in48 is better offset from #Deweys

48-hour Hour Book Challenge

Likely June 2016 – but the 2016 date has not yet been announced

Low-key multiday

Bout of Books

Bout of Books 16 - 5/9/2016 -- 5/15/2016

Bout of Books 17 - 8/22/2016 -- 8/28/2016

Bout of Books 18 - 1/2/2017 -- 1/8/2017

Wonderfully Wicked Read-A-Thon

May be defunct.  The associated blog doesn’t appear to have been updated since mid-2015.

Typically overlaped with Dewey’s 24-hour Readathon.

http://www.littlebookowl.com/p/read-thon-calendar.html  appears to be keeping a ReadAThon Calendar as well and included several other hosts that I wasn’t aware of such as

The A Winter's Respite Read-a-Thon will always fall in the third week in January. This year January 18 – 24, 2016

The Spring into Horror Read-a-Thon will always fall in the third week of April.

The High Summer Read-a-Thon will always fall in the third week of July.

The FrightFall Read-a-Thon will always fall during the first week in October.

The A Winter's Respite Read-a-Thon will always fall in the third week in January.

If you are participating in a Read-a-Thon, let me know and I'll stop by to cheer you on, even if I am not reading along
