From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler - E.L. Konigsburg This was one of my favorite books in middle school. After picking up

While the book was relatively contemporary when I read it the first time, with the passage of years and inflation, it would have to be classified as historical fiction now (I mean - a whole meal from and automat for 50 cents?). Despite that and some dated references, the charm of the story persists. Claudia and her desire to be different, along with the younger brother side-kick are well worth the time to enter the museum.
