While my first love was SF, I read widely in YA, urban fantasy, police procedurals,  middle-grade, and non-fiction.

The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins It's not that much of a stretch from reality TV contests to the "most dangerous game of all," so the current popularity of The Hunger Games isn't that surprising to me. Like the best "YA" fiction, Hunger Games is well worth the time for adults to read. But I would definitely shelter younger readers from the violence.

I'll be very curious to see how the love triangle resolves in the next installment.
