While my first love was SF, I read widely in YA, urban fantasy, police procedurals, middle-grade, and non-fiction.
Enjoyable though flawed retelling of the Cinderella story.
I had trouble suspending my disbelief at the beginning. If they have sufficient biomedical knowledge to create as sophisticated a cyborg as Cinder, how can they be unable to find a cure or vaccine to stop the plague? I also saw through the lost prince plot with the first forshadowing, which spoiled the impact of the ending.
That said, I liked how the theme of the shoes was carried through the book and am curious to see what happens now that Cinder has left her foot behind. Will the Prince go searching for his princess? Guess I'll have to read the sequel to find out.
