While my first love was SF, I read widely in YA, urban fantasy, police procedurals, middle-grade, and non-fiction.
As seems to be occurring more and more frequently, I finished Moon Over Soho more than a week ago and am just now finding the time to articulate my thoughts.
As often happens, the second installment in the Peter Grant series is not quite as well thought out and fresh as the opening book in the series Midnight Riot (aka The Rivers of London). Not sure if it's just that the protagonist and premise are not new, the antagonists are petty mortals rather than gods, or the phenomenon of authors not having as much time to polish subsequent publications after a book becomes popular. That being said, Moon Over Soho is a pleasing Urban Fantasy and spending time in Peter Grant's magical London was well worth my time.
